Community Schools Information
Alder Grove Charter School is proud to be a Community School. We believe that education is not just about academic achievement, but also about educating the whole child, building strong relationships and fostering a sense of belonging. This school improvement strategy works to transform a school into a place where educators, local community members, families and students work together so young people can thrive.
As a Community School, Alder Grove is committed to its relationships with students, families, local organizations and businesses. These relationships continue to create opportunities for our students and to enrich the lives of the community we serve. Collaboration and inclusivity creates a better future for everyone in our community.
Our school is home to a wide range of partners that focus on a variety of opportunities and we actively encourage our students to get involved in activities to develop their talents and interests. Our events for families and community members, such as family events, field days, and field trips bring our communities together.
Alder Grove Charter School’s Community Care Coordinator is Shana Langer, MPH. To facilitate the implementation of this grant, she will continue collaborating, interviewing and conducting surveys with students, families and staff to advocate for the support services that students and families need and desire.
